Visual Processing Assessments (VPAs)

90-minute evaluations that examine how a patient perceives and processes visual information. These assessments are required before beginning Optometric Vision Therapy or Phototherapy and are only scheduled following a Visual Rehabilitation Evaluation.

Each VPA is customized to the patient’s needs and may include:

• Visual perception

• Visual processing speed and automaticity

• Visual-vestibular integration

• Laterality and directionality

• Peripheral and spatial awareness

• Visuo-motor integration

• Auditory-visual perception

• Reading, copying, and spelling analysis

• Evaluation of retained primitive reflexes

A comprehensive report is generated, shared with the patient’s care team, and reviewed in detail with Dr. Attiyah.
